Toledo Walleye Visit was a Blast!

Last Wednesday, iLEAD Spring Meadows was visited by our new friends, Toledo Walleye Hockey! Prior to the visit, our learners took the lead in decorating the school so that the Walleye felt welcome. Blue and yellow balloons, streamers and posters adorned the hallways and the Village.

When the team arrived, our learners received their very own jerseys and then met three of the team’s players: Simon Denis #9, Tyson Spink #12, and Tylor Spink #24. They shared where they were from, how long they have been playing, and answered some questions from our learners.

Next, the team led some ball handling, passing and shooting drills. Our learners did a fantastic job practicing their new skills!

The Walleye players signed everyone’s jerseys and we were visited by Spike the Walleye!

Spike also said hello to our younger learners and join them in their classes:

Lastly, Toledo Walleye presented books about hockey to our facilitators, Mrs. Rodgers and Ms. Cristina.

We had an amazing day, and will remember it forever. Thank you, Toledo Walleye and Ohio Council of Community Schools for this wonderful opportunity!
