The first celebration of Black History Month took place in February 1970. Within six years, it was recognized nationally. The monthlong celebration gives all Americans a chance to reflect on the history of African-Americans, from their many achievements to the struggles they endure to this day. Join us on Friday, Feb. 15th, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. for a schoolwide Presentation of Learning. Visit your learner’s class, as well as classes throughout the school, to see and hear about what they have been learning as they celebrate Black History Month.
