Important Update Regarding Hybrid Cohorts

notebook and pen please note

Dear iLEAD Spring Meadows Families,

We are scheduled to resume our hybrid cohorts on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. As we closely monitor the impact of COVID-19 on both our school community and across Lucas County, we must make some adjustments. Beginning next week, we will begin a gradual transition for bringing our hybrid cohorts back on campus.

  • On January 19, 2021, we will resume our hybrid cohorts for kindergarten through 3rd grade.

  • Grades 4-8 will remain virtual at this time in an effort to mitigate the spread of disease and to manage staffing for learners on site. We will continue to update families regularly regarding a return-to-site date.

  • Over the next week, we will be reaching out to families with learners in grades 4-8 who have IEPs/504s to schedule options for on-site support while their cohorts remain virtual.

Our upper elementary and middle school learners are adjusting well and continuing to make strong academic gains while engaging virtually. Remaining virtual will provide consistency for those learners and reduce the need to continue switching back and forth between on-site and virtual as well as reduce the number of staff and learners required to quarantine.

We have sent the Ohio Department of Education our intent to return to full-time, five-days-a-week schooling once the vaccine is available to staff who would like to receive it. This will help expedite the process and allow us to return to a full-time schedule sooner for those who chose to be on site.

We will continue to distribute meals and packets on Wednesdays from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM for virtual learners. If your family is in need of technology to support learning at home, please email info@ileadspringmeadows.org

Social-emotional health

Our school counselors, Ms. Munoz and Ms. Bayus, will be accessible for all learners during these challenging times. You can reach them via email at lorena.munoz@ileadspringmeadows.org and jessica.bayus@ileadspringmeadows.org. Many of our families also receive additional support at iLEAD through the TACKLE program. Ms. Kim will continue to support learners on her caseload and take referrals as needs arise. She can be contacted at kwoodby@rfstackle.com or (419) 380-7400. Families not currently working with the TACKLE program can get connected by contacting Ms. Kim or notifying the school office.

Please continue to keep your family’s health and well-being as your top priority. We can’t wait to see all of our learners back on campus and will continue to provide updates immediately as they become available. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any type of support!

Ms. Sarah Hawley
