During distance learning, the state still requires schools to submit daily attendance. Your learner can be marked present by participating in live Zoom sessions and/or by completing daily assignments and completing projects. If your learner does not either participate in a live session or complete daily assignments, they will be marked absent. Truancy and Chronic Absenteeism are taken seriously by local and state agencies. If your learner does not regularly attend Zoom meetings or complete assignments in PowerSchool, you may be required to complete an attendance plan and/or be referred to children’s services. If your learner has fallen behind, contact the school immediately to make sure we can work together to have all learners in good standing. Our facilitators are making every effort to provide regular contact, opportunities for individualized instruction, and support outside of the regular school hours.
